Vehicle recovery

Vehicle recovery in Blackwater

We recover vehicles from Blackwater, Hawley and the Blackwater Valley back to the Bracknell workshop, eight miles away through Sandhurst. The A331 runs straight through, and it is the road most of our calls from this area come from.

  • Back to our own workshop

The car comes to us and we diagnose it ourselves — no compound, no second collection, no handover between firms.

  • A straight answer on timing

We will tell you honestly how long we will be rather than quoting a response time we cannot keep.

  • Checked before you pay for a truck

Describe what the car is doing and we will tell you if it is something simpler — a flat battery does not need recovery.

Breaking down on the A331

The A331 Blackwater Valley Road is a fast dual carriageway with short slip roads and not much verge in places. If the car starts to fail, aim for the next slip road or lay-by rather than stopping on the main carriageway. If you have to stop, pull as far left as you can, put the hazards on and get out on the passenger side if it is safe, then get behind the barrier and stand back from the road. Note the junction or nearest exit you passed, because that is how we find you.

We also cover Hawley, Darby Green, Frogmore, Minley and Cove, all within a short run of the workshop.

Vehicle recovery in Blackwater — common questions

Do you recover cars from Blackwater and the A331?
Yes. Call 07758 833 127 with your location and the last junction you passed, and we will bring the car back to our workshop in Bracknell.
Should I stay in the car on a dual carriageway?
If you are clear of the carriageway and can get behind a barrier safely, get out and stand well back. If you are stuck in a running lane, stay belted in with hazards on and call 999.
Can you repair the car once it is recovered?
Yes. It comes straight to our workshop, and we diagnose it and give you a price before any work starts.
What should I tell you when I call for recovery?
Where you are as precisely as you can manage, what the car is doing, whether it is in a safe place, and whether anything is attached to it. If you are on a motorway, the junction number or marker post helps a lot.
When should I call 999 instead?
If anyone is injured, if the vehicle is in a live traffic lane, or if you cannot get clear of moving traffic. Get the emergency services first and sort the recovery once you are safe.
