Tyres fitted in Blackwater
We fit tyres for Blackwater, Hawley and Darby Green from the Bracknell workshop, about eight miles through Sandhurst. Plenty of the cars we see from this area are newer models with no spare wheel, which changes what you should do about a puncture.
about eight miles from Blackwater (GU17) via the A3095 and A321 through Crowthorne and Sandhurst
Fitted price, not a headline price
What we quote includes fitting, balancing and getting rid of the old tyre, so the figure does not grow at the counter.
Matched to your car properly
Correct size, load index and speed rating for what you drive — not the nearest thing in stock.
Told honestly when you can wait
If a tyre has legal life left we will say so. We would rather you came back than bought something you did not need.
Run-flats and cars with no spare
A lot of newer cars have run-flat tyres or just an inflation kit instead of a spare. Run-flats let you keep driving after a puncture, but only for a limited distance at reduced speed, often around 50 miles at up to 50mph. Check your handbook for your car's figures. Many tyre makers advise against repairing a run-flat once it has been driven on deflated, so it often needs replacing. Inflation kit sealant can also make a tyre harder to repair. Tell us what your car has when you call and we will quote the right tyre.
We also cover Hawley, Darby Green, Frogmore, Minley and Cove, all within a short run of the workshop.
Tyres fitted in Blackwater — common questions
- Do you fit tyres near Blackwater?
- Yes, from our workshop in Bracknell, about eight miles away via the A3095 and A321. Send us your size or registration for a fitted price.
- Can a run-flat tyre be repaired?
- Sometimes, but many manufacturers advise against it if the tyre has been driven on while deflated, because the damage is inside where you cannot see it. We will inspect it and tell you honestly.
- Can I swap run-flats for normal tyres?
- You can, but the car will need a spare or an inflation kit, and some cars are set up specifically for run-flats. We will explain what changes before you decide.
- What is the legal minimum tyre tread in the UK?
- 1.6mm across the central three quarters of the tread, all the way around the tyre. Below that it is up to £2,500 and three penalty points per tyre, and grip in wet weather drops off well before you reach the limit.
- Do you need my registration or my tyre size?
- Either works. The size is moulded into the sidewall, like 205/55 R16 91V. If the car has had different wheels fitted at some point, the sidewall is the more reliable of the two.
