Vehicle recovery

Vehicle recovery in Fleet

We recover cars for Fleet and Church Crookham back to our Bracknell workshop, about twelve miles via the M3. Tell us the make and model when you call. With more electric, hybrid and four-wheel-drive cars around, that decides how the car has to be moved.

about twelve miles from Fleet (GU51 and GU52) via the M3 to junction 4a, or across through Sandhurst and Yateley

  • Back to our own workshop

The car comes to us and we diagnose it ourselves — no compound, no second collection, no handover between firms.

  • A straight answer on timing

We will tell you honestly how long we will be rather than quoting a response time we cannot keep.

  • Checked before you pay for a truck

Describe what the car is doing and we will tell you if it is something simpler — a flat battery does not need recovery.

Electric, hybrid and automatic cars need moving properly

Many electric and hybrid cars, and plenty of automatics and four-wheel-drives, must not be towed with their driven wheels on the road. Doing it can damage the motor or the gearbox. They need to go on a flatbed, or be moved on dollies for short distances. If your EV has simply run out of charge, say so: it still needs recovering, but the fix may only be a charge rather than a repair. Check the handbook for a transport or towing section if you can, and give us the make, model and fuel type when you ring.

We also cover Church Crookham, Elvetham Heath, Crookham Village, Ancells Farm and Dogmersfield, all within a short run of the workshop.

Vehicle recovery in Fleet — common questions

Do you recover cars from Fleet?
Yes, back to our workshop in Bracknell, about twelve miles away. Call 07758 833 127 with your location, the car's make and model, and what it is doing.
Can you recover an electric car?
Yes, but it has to travel with its wheels off the road, so tell us it is electric or hybrid when you call. That way we bring the right equipment.
Why does it matter if my car is automatic or 4x4?
Many automatic gearboxes and four-wheel-drive systems can be damaged if the car is towed with any wheels turning. Knowing this up front means we move it the right way.
What should I tell you when I call for recovery?
Where you are as precisely as you can manage, what the car is doing, whether it is in a safe place, and whether anything is attached to it. If you are on a motorway, the junction number or marker post helps a lot.
When should I call 999 instead?
If anyone is injured, if the vehicle is in a live traffic lane, or if you cannot get clear of moving traffic. Get the emergency services first and sort the recovery once you are safe.
