Vehicle recovery in Hook
We recover cars for Hook, Hartley Wintney and Odiham drivers back to our Bracknell workshop, about sixteen miles up the M3. One of the most common calls from this stretch of the M3 has nothing to do with a mechanical fault: it is the wrong fuel in the tank.

Back to our own workshop
The car comes to us and we diagnose it ourselves — no compound, no second collection, no handover between firms.
A straight answer on timing
We will tell you honestly how long we will be rather than quoting a response time we cannot keep.
Checked before you pay for a truck
Describe what the car is doing and we will tell you if it is something simpler — a flat battery does not need recovery.
Put the wrong fuel in? Do not start the engine
Misfuelling is easy to do at a busy forecourt, including Fleet services between junctions 4a and 5. If you realise before starting the car, do not turn the ignition on at all. On many cars that alone primes the fuel pump. Put it in neutral and push it somewhere safe. If you have already driven off and the car starts to stutter, pull over as soon as it is safe and switch off. Petrol in a diesel is usually the more damaging mistake. Either way, the tank and fuel lines need draining, and the sooner the engine stops, the cheaper it is.
We also cover Hartley Wintney, Odiham, North Warnborough, Rotherwick and Newnham, all within a short run of the workshop.
Vehicle recovery in Hook — common questions
- Do you recover cars from Hook and the M3?
- Yes. Call 07758 833 127 with your location; on the motorway, give the junction or the nearest marker post. We bring the car back to our workshop in Bracknell.
- I put the wrong fuel in. What should I do?
- Do not start the car or switch the ignition on. Push it somewhere safe and call us. If you are already driving, stop as soon as it is safe and switch off. The less the wrong fuel circulates, the cheaper the fix.
- Is misfuelling covered by insurance?
- Some policies cover it and many do not, so check yours. It is usually much cheaper to deal with if the engine was never started.
- What should I tell you when I call for recovery?
- Where you are as precisely as you can manage, what the car is doing, whether it is in a safe place, and whether anything is attached to it. If you are on a motorway, the junction number or marker post helps a lot.
- When should I call 999 instead?
- If anyone is injured, if the vehicle is in a live traffic lane, or if you cannot get clear of moving traffic. Get the emergency services first and sort the recovery once you are safe.
